WHEAT FIELD WIND FARM, OREGON

 

Wheat Field Wind Farm, which is approximately five miles away from Rattlesnake Road Wind Farm in Oregon on approximately 8,500 acres of cultivated wheat fields, achieved commercial operation in April 2009. With 46 Suzlon S88 2.1 MW turbines, the wind farm has an installed capacity of 96.6 MW - enough to power approximately 27,000 average Northwest homes each year. Public Utility District No. 1 of Snohomish County, Washington purchases the clean, renewable energy generated by the wind farm.
