Wind Farms

MEADOW LAKE IV WIND FARM, INDIANA

Meadow Lake IV Wind Farm is located in northwestern Indiana in White County. The wind farm has an installed capacity of 98.7 MW – enough to power approximately 27,000 average Indiana homes with clean energy each year. The wind farm, which achieved commercial operation in October 2010, consists of 47 Suzlon S88 2.1 MW turbines. Beginning in 2012, Ameren Illinois Utilities will purchase 25 MW of the clean, renewable energy generated by the wind farm. Currently, the electricity generated by the wind farm is sold into the regional wholesale market. The associated energy credits are used by businesses and organizations to comply with state renewable energy mandates or to voluntarily reduce the environmental impact of their operations.
