Developed and Sold Wind Farms

DEVELOPED AND SOLD WIND FARMS

High Prairie Wind Farm I LLC
On approximately 10,000 acres of farmland in Mower County, Minnesota, High Prairie Wind Farm I LLC harnesses the winds of the southern Minnesota prairie. With an installed capacity of 99 MW, the wind farm utilizes 43 Siemens MkII turbines. FPL Energy bought the wind farm from Horizon in May 2006 and began commercial operation in December of that year.

Meyersdale Wind Farm
Mount Davis, the highest point in Pennsylvania, sends winds down into the Casselman River Valley, making the location of Meyersdale Wind Farm one of the most attractive wind sites in the state. Horizon partnered with Atlantic Renewable Energy Corporation to develop the wind farm, which has an installed capacity of 30 MW. Horizon sold Meyersdale Wind Farm to FPL Energy in June 2003. FPL Energy finished constructing the project that year.

Mill Run Wind Farm
Mill Run Wind Farm in eastern Fayette County, Pennsylvania, features open pasture land on a ridge overlooking Springfield and Stuart Townships. Horizon and Atlantic Renewable Energy Corporation, which was later acquired by Iberdrola Renewables, partnered to build the project in 2001 and sold it to FPL Energy in April 2003. The wind farm has a total installed capacity of 15 MW.

Somerset Wind Farm
Somerset Wind Farm, located in Somerset Township, Pennsylvania, was developed as a joint venture with Atlantic Renewable Energy Corporation. Commercial operation commenced in October 2001 and Horizon sold the 9 MW wind farm to FPL Energy in early 2003.

Pine Tree Wind Farm
Pine Tree Wind Farm, located in the Tehachapi Mountains of California, was conceptually developed by Horizon and sold to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) in November 2006. The wind farm’s 80 wind turbines had an initial installed capacity of 120 MW when completed by LADWP in June 2009. The wind farm was further developed by LADWP, yielding an installed capacity of 130 MW as of June 2010.

Tierras Morenas Wind Farm
In August 1998, Horizon partnered with ZMZ General, S.A. and Energy Works to acquire the development rights to the Tierras Morenas Wind Farm, located near Lake Arenal in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. Tierras Morenas Wind Farm, which has an installed capacity of 24 MW, is one of the largest wind farms in Latin America. Horizon sold its 50 percent ownership of the project in the summer of 2005.

Top of Iowa Wind Farm
With an installed capacity of 80 MW, Top of Iowa Wind Farm is located in western Worth County, Iowa. The wind farm, which began commercial operation in November 2001, was developed as a joint venture between Horizon and Midwest Renewable Energy Corporation. Entergy acquired the wind farm in December 2001 and Horizon currently operates the project through a management and administration contract.

Wild Horse Wind Farm
Horizon developed and built Wild Horse Wind Farm and sold it to Puget Sound Energy in September 2005. With a 229 MW capacity, it began operating in the fall of 2006 in Kittitas County, Washington on land purchased from private landowners, the Washington Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
