Blue Canyon I Wind Farm is located on the Slick Hills terrain of southern Oklahoma near the city of Lawton in Caddo and Comanche Counties. With an installed capacity of 74.25 MW, the wind farm consists of 45 Vestas NM72 1.65 MW turbines. The wind farm produces enough energy to power approximately 20,000 average Oklahoma homes with clean energy each year. Blue Canyon I achieved commercial operation in December 2003, and Western Farmers Electric Cooperative purchases the wind farm’s energy.
